The prerequisites and conditions for the introduction of videoconferencing as an advanced means of technical and criminalistic support for the investigation of crimes are analyzed. The use of videoconferencing will make it possible to solve the problems of investigating crimes in a complex way: to reduce the time for criminal cases production, to ensure simultaneous and qualitative investigation of a larger number of criminal cases, as well as a higher level of safety of participants in theprocess and budget savings. Implementation of the possibility of using information and communication technologies in the course of investigative actions predetermines the development of a fundamentally new specialized software that allows to carry out: the interaction of the participants in the preliminary investigation – the transmission of video, audio, files; the synchronization of processes in both points of contact; the visualization of the transmitted information – the text of the protocol, video sequence, combined video from different sources in a single window; the exclusion of visual observation by one of the parties by retouching the part of the image or suspending transmission of the video stream to one of the points of contact; ensuring the security of the transmitted information.
