Abstract

Basing on the results of the conducted analysis, the authors of the article revealed that when checking the extremist crime reports, the available initial information is not evaluated in due
time, no procedural actions are taken to overcome and to cover its deficit, the verification periods are unjustifiably prolonged. That, in its turn, leads to the loss of evidence, untimely appointment of the
necessary examinations. The problems that arise are largely due to the insufficient level of interaction between the investigator and the subjects of the crime detection activities, shortcomings in the planning
of the verification, the promotion of versions and some other tactical mistakes. The attempt to formulate certain tactical decisions of the investigator when verifying the crime report, including some aspects
of collecting evidence and appointing the examinations, is made in the article. The assessment of the existing investigative situations in cases of extremist crimes is given.
