Abstract

Appealing to experts in connection with the need to decide issues based on the application of special knowledge is increasing every year in the proceedings, as well as while implementing tax and customs control and providing evidence by a notary. The problem of choosing a forensic expert having proper competence and experience is one of the most difficult for persons (bodies) conducting the process. The ways of its solution are proposed in the scientific literature, but in modern practice this choice is often made on formal grounds. The issues concerning the making and maintaining the unified register of forensic experts for the whole country are considered in the article. The author examines the
principles of making such registers in the member states of the Eurasian Economic union to determine the criteria for the formation of such register. considering the criteria for including the experts in the
registers, the author substantiates the need to make a register taking into account the informativeness, correctness and completeness of the information, as well as ensuring the safety of the expert. The
conducted research allowed the author to formulate criteria – requirements for the experts applying for being included in the register, as well as to offer the list of the information, which should be freely
available in the register.
