Abstract

One of the reasons for the growth of incidents in the information environment involving minors in recent years is the unwillingness of persons responsible for their upbringing to protect the younger generation from cyberthreats, which is determined by the lack of awareness about the methods of ensuring the children protection on the Internet. Therefore, it is extremely important to raise awareness not only on the risks and threats associated with using the Internet, but also on the methods and means of protecting minors from them. At the same time, according to the author of the article’s opinion, the administrative responsibility of parents and other legal representatives of minors
for the unsupervised or careless Internet use by children and adolescents should be established. As a result of the conducted research, the author formulated the proposal on the necessity to fix the failure of the parents and other legal representatives of minors to install hardware and software protection on computers, mobile phones, and other devices having access to the Internet as the independent basis for bringing them to administrative responsibility.
